May He Rest In Peace

I've been putting off this post.  Chris's father passed away last Friday.  It didn't seem right to skip that fact, but I wasn't ready to write about it either.  Today was the funeral.  It's a rainy day in Southern California and the cemetery wouldn't allow a graveside service, but there was a memorial at the funeral home.  It was as nice as a funeral can be.  Chris gave a speech, and it broke my heart to hear him talking about his father.  So, here's to the man who taught my husband how to be a good husband and someday a good father.

need a break?

Thanks to my mom, I am now in love with guided self-hypnosis/relaxation mp3s.  I have several of Andrew Johnson's mp3s as apps on my iPhone, which I love.  But, you can also get them in iTunes.  I'm happy to share the ones I have.. if anyone is interested.  When you have 13 minutes, try this relaxation.  Listen to me: you won't regret it.

Wherever you are, is just fine.

Wherever you are, is just fine. You can get to wherever you want to be from wherever you are. It’s time to stop measuring where you are in relationship to where anybody else is. The only factor that has anything to do with you is where you are in relationship with where you want to be.

Woes and Wine

This week has been rather stressful for us.  Chris's dad is in the ICU with congestive heart failure and a collapsed lung, among other things.  It's also the last weeks of the semester, and Chris has a major test tomorrow and then final exam next Monday.  We are hoping he can stay and finish out these tests, but family will come first.

On a more positive note, I went on a wine cruise yesterday with several of the spouses.  We had a blast, snorkeling and swimming off the side of the boat!

My latest blog creation!  Stinking cute, right?
